A stocky medium-sized Heron with a short neck and thick black bill, the Black-Crowned Night-Heron has grey wings, white under-belly and a black cap and back. It is the most common of all the Herons.

Good shot of an interesting bird. So what's the secret - how do you get so close to these guys? Is it some kind of spray-on that makes you smell like a birdie?
Good picture with both black and white and neither seems to be out of range. Impressive!!

This is a great photo but I think it might be improved a little bit further by correcting the white balance a bit. I guess this is morning or evening photo... right?
