[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here's another framed shot from Swiftcurrent Lake in Glacier National Park. This is just a shot walk from the Many Glacier Hotel.

A note about the settings. The nioght before I had tried a night shot with an ISO of 800. Since my battery was drained I turned off my monitor which I use to check my settings, I hadn't changed it. Woops!

PP: To compensate for the grain I ran this through a noise filter (Noiseware). Then I made some contrasts adjustments to leave some details in the fg. Then a resize, frame, and USM.

Marvelous shot, it looks like an oil paint.!

Could be a John Wayne's vista....
Well done, Mike.
Good work!

Hi Mike,
Great natural framing of the distant mountain peak. Definitely a 3D effect, beckoning the viewer to take a closer look :)
Well managed exposure with very good detail/colors. Nice job of NR with this ISO 800 image.
Very well done.

Hello Mike,
So this is what meets your eye as you approach the lake!
And next you start wondering, how is angling conditions, will the trout go for my fly today?
A lovely composition, impressive background!
Greetings,
Pablo -

A beautiful landscape...well composed and wonderfully rich colors. Your foreground does an amazing job framing the mountain. Your lighting from front to back is great. I have trouble with that...I can never adjust.

Fantastic place!
Very good work!

Salut Mike

Belle image de ce joli paysage qui ressort de l'ordinaire.L'exposition, les couleurs et la prise de vue en font une belle composition.

Merci et au revoir....JP

Hi Mike,
I like your view through the trees onto the wonderfully shaped mountain. It created a perfect natural framing, especially how it also funnels the view from the FG to the mountain. The fact that you shot this with such a high ISO and the need of a noise filter was used is not visable at all. I do feel that our contrast adjustment on the FG left you with a pale looking FG. I think by adding a bit more contrast and some curves adjustment on the RGB seperatly would give you just a bit more color without making loosing the details in the FG. I also see a lot of artifacts from the USM, but that happens a lot to me on this high contrast ratio screen.

Well, Gee! You really struck pay dirt on that trip didn't you? This is probably the best shot I've seen of that peak. I've always thought it somewhat boring in shape before but the light and angle that you captured is super. Nice work.

Hi Mike.
Wow. What a view. Great composition. Wonderful colour and sharpness. Very beautiful. Well done.
Regards, Steve.

What a beautiful shot this is, it's so difficult to capture the feel of the area when taking shots like this. (At least for me anyway) But you've done a great job! Well captured!
