Even with tattered wings and her imperfections, our lovely lady still finds love. :)

"Mate-Finding

Butterflies use two different flight patterns to obtain a mate: Perchant Behavior and Patrolling Behavior. With Perchant Behavior male butterflies go to certain areas and wait. Usually resting on some object the males will dart out at passing animals and objects to determine whether they are females of their own species. If the passer by isn't, they will return to their vantage point. Female butterflies will fly to these places to seek a mate. These areas are usually fixed within each species and both sexes are drawn to them.

With Patrolling Behavior males actively search for females by flying almost constantly. In some species patrolling males will track females scent to further aid them in their search. Usually though scents are only used in actual courtship. Male's more commonly use movement and wing color to help them find females. Patrolling males are attracted to objects at rest whereas Perching males are attracted to moving or fluttering objects."

Taken from The Butterfly Lab which appears to be an incredible site. I definitely want to read through the entire thing.

I just love your photo’s title. A beautiful heading for a even better capture. Splendid image. Beautiful colours. Need I say more? This photo just have so much character to it, and points right back to us humans. Have we not seen or been in a situation like this? Although we don’t always think so, love will always find a way to comeback. Even to the battered ones.
Thanks for sharing, it is much appreciated.
Warmest regards
Aaltjie

I would have to take many batteries for the camera to a place like this. Amazing pictures..still movement and clear actions...you are so special and bouncing back from an illness...

Hi Angy,
a great picture of with a flying butterfly, the details are very good. First when I saw the thumbnail, a flying butterfly from Texas I thought it was Howards, but I was wrong.
And this is in the same high quality as he use to show us.
Lovely colours and fine lighting.
It's a beautiful work.

Hi Angelina,
Not one but two stunning b'flies in one photo. The one in flight looks to be in much better condition than the one eating. How long do you expect they will live? Both are still wonderful and your photo made them even more beautiful. I really love the lighting and the wonderful colored BG.

Greta capture with love. Lovely ladies are always loved by lovely ladies. Fantastic picture with colours, action and composition.

Wonderful capture with both in your DOF, and one inflight Angelina. The wide frame composition works very well for this one, nice sharpness/detail.
I read your comments on Mr. Toad, so I dug through and found a closeup of the eye..It's added on as a WS if you want a look see :)
Very well done.

Voilà une merveille de composition. L'attitude et la netteté du papillon en vol sont tout simplement époustouflantes, et quelle jolie diagonale ils créent ! Le tout baigné d'une superbe lumière. Bravo !

Angelina,
What a perfect shot, very sharp and detailed. I love the way the lighting seems to illuminate their wings. Excellent composition and the colours are beautiful. Great job!!

Angelina,

I love this shot. What a great catch. The lighting is just right. Since I am a butterfly monitor here in Illinois, I enjoy seeing great winged shots.

Bob

This is a beautiful image, Angelina, and your title fits perfectly! It bears a good message for us humans, that physical beauty or perfection are not requirements for a fulfilling, loving relationship.

But back to the picture... your subjects are in good focus, the butterflies as well as the greenery. And the background blur is perfect for this shot.

Well done, and perfectly timed!

Randy

Hi Angelina,
fantastic capture, perfectly frozen in motion.
Very clear and precise. Delicious colours in the gentle backlight.
Generous composition. And a touching story of love.
A winner. Thank you!
