Long-tailed Skipper

On this day no matter where I went, from Sundance Garden in Texas City to Virginia Point on Galveston Bay, there were Long-tailed Skippers. At Sundance Garden, where this photo was taken, they were everywhere along with a few Common Buckeyes and yellow Sulphers(I think). A few weeks ago it was Giant Swallowtails and Black Swallowtails. Who's next? Because of the temperate climate of Galveston Island, I'm anxious to see what critters Autumn and Winter will bring.

Hello Jim,
a nice and colourful picture showing the main actor, the skipper, well focused and with pretty good sharpness. In spite of the diffently and brilliantly coloured areas, the skipper stands out clearly due to the sufficiently blurred background.
Best wishes, Peter

Hi Jim,

Very unusual position of this Skipper. You caught him perfectly with no movement at all. Colors and details are excellent. The beautiful flowers add to it to make a lovely composition.

Jim, Class shot. I think the POV is superb and also the composition. I am also wondering what angle you must have taken this shot. Lovely image with sharp details. Ganesh
