This was one of those shots that was begging for a black and white conversion. The South Sister is nicely reflected in the frigid waters.

Marvelous shot, Tim, I love the black/white and the reflection is like a mirror. Fantastic, thanks

This is that wonderful effect you used on some of your earlier posts...a smooth effect. Wish I could name it somehow but I love this.
I don't understand the lack of points on this one. It's an Ansel Adams style to me...gorgeous!!!

Hi Tim,

incredible reflectio, B/W works very well here, excellent quality

If anything looks good in B&W it is this picture. It truly looks like a film picture. Nothing to indicate digital...and close to Zone photography as well..VERY nicely done...I would enjoy hearing your conversion technique.

Hi Tim,

Stunning picture, and what a peaceful mood. The black and white use is judicious, the contrat is great, so clear and sharp. It is surprising to see the softness of one mountain filled with snow and the edgy forest on the other side. TFS!

Hi Tim
Excellent picture in Black&white. You'va caught the wonderful peaceful moment and in b&w it looks like the picture from early expolorers album.
I admire also the reflection in the lake - whole picture is extremely sharp.
Wonderful, thanks for sharing

Hi Tim!
Yes, I agree with you! It is a fantastic b&w-shot. The putiry of the snow and the perfectly still lake makes this a fantastic landscape. The reflection is so perfect that I imagine no one would notice it if you put the image up-side down!
It looks pretty cold up there :)

This is gorgeous as a black and white. The contrast levels in this image are perfect. I love the contours the snowy hill displays right along with that crystal clear reflection. TFS Tim. :)
