Hi Scott,
Great shot of this grasshopper. At first I thought it was posed on an ear of corn. Wonderful green and the eye is superb. I love the background.

Hi Scott,
Great shot of this little katydid nymph?
Looks very nice with the green of the insect & BG, that contrasts the yellow & white of the stamen..The stamen also gives good scale, telling the viewer how small it really is..I don't know how many times I did that finger dance myself trying to get the bug in position :)

Hi Scott!
Great macro shot of green insect on big dildo... eeee I mean flower :-) Detailed, sharp, with great diagonal composition and vivid colours. Pity that upper part is cut off...
ps. We [with my wife] have 'Law and Order' marathon this month - one part every night :-) Not as good as NYPD Blue, but I like it. And I like many shots from NYC's streets.

Hello Scott
I think the Anthurium plant makes a pretty interesting shot by itself.
A wonderful macro showing excellent texture and detail.
The colour saturation is well done, the colours are rich.
Nicely composed in the frame with the diagonal flow.
The focus is spot on.
Great job.

Hi Scott.
What an impressive macro and very interesting technique. You managed to get crisp sharp image using so long exposure time. It is great. Flash work and colours are excellent too. May be cropping on the top is strong quite a little bit. Bravo and best wishes.
Alexei.

Hi Scott
This is a lovely clear and bright image. I love the sharpness of the shot and the great POV which has us staring right into his eye. Perfect DOF.
He looks quite sweet cling on there

Linda macro Scott, excelentes detalhes e cores maravilhosas.

Hi Scott
I don't have the faintest clue concerning the ID, but I think I would go along with Howard's thinking that it probably belongs to the katydid family of mini hoppers. I liked your notes describing how you had to nudge and guide this guy to get it to the right spot for the shot.
The details and colours are excellent and so are the DOF, POF, and OOF BG. The vertical composition is a pleasant and obvious choice to accommodate the extended style of the flower and of course those long antennae of the insect. I just cannot make up my mind though, which do I like most, the Anthurium or the "katydid". Both are just fabulous.
I've taken the liberty to do a quick workshop, basically just to address the slight shadowy area of the insect. All was done using PhotoShop's "Shadow/Highlight" function at the default settings.
Well done with the macro MF and TFS.
Regards

Beauty, Scott. See, there ARE interesting things to shoot in the midwest, you just have to look closely. Very closely. As in macro. Nice to see you trying this out. For me this image works very well. Great details and exposure. If I had a nit, it would be that it is a bit tight, though I think we might lose the 'hopper if you got much further out.
