nice to see another wonderful 'classic' from you my friend, it won't be too long until this seasons beauties emerge!
You have as always caught some amazing detail and composed this very nicely. The background couldn't be any better. I am thinking of starting to give macro's a go myself this spring, would you recommend any lens in particular??
(One that won't leaving my financially crippled would be good!)

Nice one from your archives! I didn't know that L. quadrimaculata was found in N. America. We learn something every day here on TN!

Hi Horia.
Classic for you subject and quality of the picture. All is wonderful but reproduction of the tiny hair even on the dragonfly tail it is fantastic. Wonderful diagonal composition, widest DOF, superb smooth colourfull BG, precise framing and impressive POV all of these is Horia, its skill and talent. Bravo, my friend.

Lets take into consideration that although the S2 has a very good image stabilser but when you couple that with the close up filters you used this is just amazing taken handheld!!
The details on the subject are highlighted perfectly against what is a lovely background.

A perfect flying machine Horia, that bulging thorax full of flight muscles is most impressive, so are the light but strong wings. Your sharply focused image, from abdomen tip to those all-seeing eyes, conveys these characteristics nicely against that blurry, greenish BG. Thank you for sharing this excellent composition with us.

Hi Horia!

You know that I personally prefer landscapes, but I'm glad to admit that this is an outstanding picture. The more I'm on TN the more I discover the beauties of insects and the advantages of the macro photography. And not later than since you posted this macro I also know you are a master at this kind! The composition with the parallels between the wings and the helve is so well seen. And I also appreciate the unity of the color tones.

je suis surpris de voir une aussi bonne profondeur de champ avec seulement f3.5,les couleurs et la netteté son extra.je note juste un petit "halot"blanchatre au dessus de l'abdomen qui gene un petit peu.
