[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Today I went to Vancouver Lake looking for the Bald Eagles that I have heard have been hanging around the lake. After about 2 1/2 hours of not seeing anything I decided to head home. After driving about an eighth mile from where I was I look over and see all three of them high up in a tree. So I stop and hike back into the woods about 75 yards thinking no way are these guys going to let me get close enough to get a shot. It took me a while but I was able to get within 25 feet of the base of the tree and lucky enough to get two quick shots off before they all took flight. Thanks for looking.

Great capture! Looks mighty sharp to me. Love the natural colours, he seems to have posed just for this shot. All your hard work paid off in the end. Well done!!

ahhh.. yes you had a good intuitive notion and ended up with gold. Very nice..Is that an aspen or what? I cannot make it out...there are so many trees in this state which look like one but end up another...

Hi Tom,
Your efforts played off - you got a very nice picture of this young Bold Eagle with a majestic pose and good, natural background.
Congratulations and TFS
Regards, Mario

Hello Tom,
Great capture, very nice composition and pov, excellent sharpness and good natural colors, fantastic regal pose and nice light.

Hi Tom,

Your perseverance paid off with a great capture. You were lucky he wasn't more obscured by the branches. Instead they framed his head nicely. The image looks a bit undersaturated on my monitor. I tried a workshop.

Evelynn ; )

Very good details with the focus. I like the colouring, because it remains natural. Nice to see the sky did not blow out the contrast. The D80 does a nice job at over 400 ISO. Seems better than a D200 even.

Hello Tom,
Proud eagle you photographed here, Tom.
Great POV IMO.
Well done

Very nice! Good light, great detail and majestic pose! Excellent work! Cheers, Klaus

Hello Tom,
I compliment to this well captured of Bald Eagles!
perfect pose of him in total sharpness, original colour and details
the exposure and focus is first class!
well done, Tom!

Hi Tom

You were lucky, the same story happened to me in north of Vancouver in sunshine coast. I couldn't get close to them. If somebody have time and can stay in that area for 2 or 3 days, then there are many many opportunity to find the Bald Eagles. Unfortunately, I didnít have time and just can stay half day. Anyway you were lucky and you use this chance perfectly. Everything is good. The shot has good composition and good sharpness as well.
Well done
PS: sorry for delay.

hello Tom

superb shot of this Bald Eagle in a eagle's typical proud pose,
great POV and vertica; framing like the eagle's pose,
lovely luminosity of the image with excellent sharpness and details
