Hi Evelynn!
This is a very surprising picture. I first thought it is blak and white, then believed you have de-saturated the colors except the ones of the trees... I had to look a it several times. It's as beautiful as it is surprising, so simple and real, so natural...
Kind regards
Markus

Hello Evelynn,
What a lovely scene, small alpine lake with snow and ice almost gone. Red rock similar to Waterton and those hardy trees. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Evelynn
Well balanced composition with good contrasting forms. The light seems to have been very strong (?) but you have dealt with it well.

Hi Evelynn
Another beautiful scene. You captured so many different wonderful events of nature in one photograph. One of the many things I like about this is the strips of snow on the sloppy Cliff side for a great background. Excellent job!! TFS

Hi Evelynn, This is a really neat photo of the tree line. There has been a lot of discussion about the saturation of colors in this image. It does seem under saturated. I tend to agree with JamesP that it was probably due to the strong light in the mountains where the air is very clear. I did a WS to increase the saturation some. I don't know if thats how it really looks there, but I hope you like it.

In childhood what I found most fascinating about trees east of Oregon is that they are so much smaller. Further east up in higher elevations like this it is obvious that fir trees struggle against the environment much more so than on the west coast. But as we can see in this picture... even under those conditions they overcome and proper.

Hello Evelynn! Very interresting composition and pov, very harsh light that gives lots of contrasts. Very sharp details, well done, thanks!

Hi Evelynn,
lovely POV and well seen. The strong vertical elements of the bedraggled looking Firs against the diagonal of the snow patches behind works very well. I bet the air is so clean up there...

Hello evelynn
A beautiful composition.
Very rugged and wild looking scenery.
The vertical pines cut nicely across the background that looks out of this world.
Great job.

Your photos as always make me want to visit some of these places I haven't seen before. I like the black & white effect, even though it is in color. Very nicely composed with the snow lines sweeping diagonally and the trees standing straight, well done.

Absolutely beautiful picture. I think you'd get a good picture with the top half of the picture removed too. The landslide doesn't really carry the richness the bottom has. Well taken this way too. TFS Evelynn
