[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Both Rob (Arfer) and Rick (adanac) have posted images of wolves lately. I wonder if this is the same gray wolf that you posted from Yellowstone's Lamar Valley, Rick?? He was definitely a loner. We watched him challenge a large grizzly for a share of an elk carcass. I don't think wolves do well as lone challengers. He left hungry. Rob, you see how much more sinister the gray looks than your fluffy arctic wolves?

Hi, Evelynn...I wouldn't call this guy sinister...wary, yes...hungry, definitely, and there's is a threatening sense he has about him, but it's more about self-preservation, I think.

As you pointed out, he's a loner - and eventually, he may get lucky enough to find a pack that will accept him. I noticed you made eye-contact with him. My guess is that he was surprised to see you, wary of what you would do to him, and with all of that, he is still hungry.

Nice presentation, though. :)

Hi Evelynn

Wow - amazing shot - his pose and those glowing eyes really make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Excellent framing and detail too.

James

Wow... nice capture. Looks like the wolf must have been distant and that you cropped it from a small part of the original framing, but it is spectacular. Looks like you had to push the image processing which makes it look a little over sharpened on my monitor. I really like this picture, though.

Hi Evelynn

Nice to see you back here :) I hope you all ok :)
This is a terrific shot of this wild wolf!
I love the expression on its face and that fantastic look in its eyes! So well captured!
The colors everywhere here - on the wolf and the surroundings - are gorgeous and very natural while the composition is also great in my opinion.

Bravo and TFS

Another great capture Evelynn,
Rosie and I were out at Yellowstone back in 2000 but never saw a wolf or bear.
You've captured them both nicely. Love the look on this guys face. I would hate to run into him in a dark alley. Well done!! TFS
