[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Woke up this morning to a lot of fog on the beach. Too much fog, I thought. This pelican, however, had other ideas for me. He spent a fair amount of time posing on the pier. Some tourists scared him off once, but he returned within about 5 minutes. Two men were fishing nearby, and I think this bird knew they had something on the line. He was waiting to feed off whatever it was they were trying to catch (the fish had tangled himself around one of the pier's pylons, hampering the efforts of those fishing to reel in their prize).

Regardless, there he stood... posing for me. So, I did the best I could. Hope you enjoy - as of this posting at 2 in the afternoon, the fog is still think along the coast here at Pismo Beach. -Kelly

Ahhh... Pismo Beach in the fog... one of my favorite hang-outs!
The pelicans there are great, and you have captured this one in all his glory.
I am such a fan of these brown pelicans.
Lovely details showing against the clean BG.
I like the texture of the ruffled feathers.
TFS, Kelly.
I am a teacher too. : )

This is a sight not common at all for me, so 'tis a pleasure to see. The close cut crop does a lot for the presentation. It's good you had the time for proper focus and set up.
