[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi All,
Todays posting is dedicated to Paul Haynes who has been a friend to me from the start here on TrekNature. Paul is an outsanding photographer whos' seascapes are just phenominal, so this ones for you Paul.
Firehole Falls is in Yellowstone National Park. This image is unusual for two reasons, I don't take many landscapes and secondly this was my first attempt at slowing my shutter speed down. Hope you like it.

Hi Rick!

Your picture and the falls are impressive and beautiful. Although I prefer natural waterfalls, I must say that you have well managed the blurred effect of the water. This rather "romantic" effect contrasts well with the very wild aspect of the area and you have taken full advantage of the indirect light.

Kind regards

Hello Rick,
This is a very dramatic fall forcing its way between the huge rocks. I like the colour and the shapes of the rocks. Well done!
A fine dedication to Paul!
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

It worked great...see? I told you! I knew you had the ability in you to do these...I have some friends who REALLY enjoy your landscape images and have written to tell me...the ones of Mendocino...VERY neat Rick. this is a vacation to end all vacations...what a wonderful time you are having....Glad you cold snap this one...You and Lucy...maybe you should buy her a camera as well:-)

Hi Rick,

So glad to see you try another landscape. Waterfalls are tricky and you did a great job. A perfect pov showing the force of the water and the surrounding environment. Just beautiful.

hello Rick

excellent panning effect of the water falls, with a fine POV,
i love the way the falls is framed by the rocks,
and beautiful landscape shot, TFS

Beautiful scene Rick,
Love the slow shutter speed you chose. Wonderful colors and fine detail in the rock structure. My wife (Rosie) would love to visit this area, she is crazy about waterfalls. TFS

I'd say your experiment worked pretty well! I don't remember this falls in Yellowstone. It's a big place though. I tried a slightly different crop to move the falls a bit more off center. I'm working on my laptop, outside so I'm not really sure how anything looks. I don't do too much going upstairs to my desktop computer these days but I am feeling lots better and hope to get out to do some car photography within a couple of weeks!

Mr Price,
may i apologise for not seeing this sooner! Thanks so much for thinking of me my friend, this is an honour. May i remind you what an inspiration YOU are to me with all your amazing wildlife captures...the day is fast approaching when i can take it no more and come to your part of the world to see it all for myself.
I very much like the slow shutter speed here (no suprises there i guess!) and you have chosen an excellent POV to show off this rugged piece of scenery...i hope you continue to lend your fine eye to landscapes!
Thanks again,
