Taken in captivity, Audobon Society, Greenwich Ct.
Great Horned Owl. Found throughout US and Canada. They weigh an average of three to four pounds. Cook time is about...just kidding! Plumage varies throught regions and the females tend to be larger than the males.
Even though nocturnal, Great Horns are known to hunt during day light hours, occasionaly. They can turn their heads 270 degrees as they can not move their eyes. |

Hi Chris,
Your owl is great! So many colors in the plumage, and so soft looking. Your BG is nicely blurred, so that the owl seems three-dimensional. Sure, the owl could be a little sharper, but he's still very fine to look at. I must go to the Audubon Society's facilities sometime. TFS.
