[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Coots fight in the water by slapping each other with their feet, and trying to force the other coot under the water. Most often the defeated coot will swim a long way under water to escape.

Surprising and informative shot. I wasn't aware of this behaviour, but you've captured it really well here.

Great image of these Coots in conflict Adam.
I reckon their feet look really odd.
Great exposure and colour.
Good job here.

Hello Adam, Great action captured splendidly. The details are fabulous.

Hello Adam

Great timing here, the action is well captured. The behaviour is interesting.
A very odd form of combat, but they are kind of like chickens so I guess it is not all that surprising.
Excellent POV with sharp focus and details.
I would be happy with just a good shot of a coot, but this is National Geographic stuff.
Well done.

Great action shot, Adam!
I see literally hundreds of coots at the lake every day.
How come I never see anything like that?
You do have the knack of being in the right place at the right time. : )
Quick reflexes on your part don't hurt either.
Great sharpness and light on this funny scene.
TFS. : )

Hi Adam
Well observed - well photographed - Bravo!
