[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I had been watching this mother goose on the nest for a few weeks. I can't say for 100% certainty that this was the first time this little guy had been in the water, but he was very tentative at first. It's brothers and sisters were holding back till they say what was going to happen. It didn't take long for all of them to follow mom and dad around the pond in a single file line with one parent in the front and one in the back. I will post other pictures later of that formation.

Spring is not far off here in Northern Illinois. -

Wonderful shot of this canada goose with her sooo cute goosling, crisp clear details on mom and baby.
I like the pose of the goose, she seems to observe the environment for protect her youngsters

Both are cute, and your picture is touching. It's a delicate testimony for tenderness in the wildlife. Moreover, the soft light highlights the warm expression of the picture.
