[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was along the Fox River yesterday to see if we were getting any migratory water birds. There were only a few, but as always there were plenty of geese. A number of them coming in for a landing and I started to track this guy. I was lucky enough to catch him just as the feet were hitting the water.

I like the background colours fitting in the with plumage of the goose, nice sharp image, with just a hint of movement in the water by its feet. TFS. Regards Bill

Bob-

Wonderful capture of a critical time point in the touchdown process. I love the details that are specific to the touchdown- the toes up to avoid digging into the water and the curvature of the wingtip primaries from the airbraking. And like any good Canada Goose, the mouth is open and probably honking to announce the landing!

If you shot a series in burst mode, it must be quite interesting to look at. Would a composite of these be a reasonable addition as a workshop? Even though this is a very dynamic picture, it's still static compared to what such a series could show.

Looks like he is learning how to water ski. Great detail and wonderful stop action. You hit the shutter at just the perfect moment!!

Hallo Bob
I like the arrangement of golden colours in this scene. The shine on the water as well as the motion in the water is beautifully captured. One can almost see the brakemarks on the surface. Boy, I really like the pose with the wide opened wings over the bird's head. It almost looks as if it is taking a bow before doing the final landing. This image has a magic atmosphere captured in it and your timing was just right. I really like the overall picture. Thanks for sharing.
