This is the same bloodroot bloom as yesterday's post but here I included the leaf to aid in identification. Actually I find the leaf almost as interesting and beautiful as the flower.

"Plants start to bloom before the foliage unfolds in early spring and after blooming the leaves expand to their full size and go summer dormant in mid to late summer. The flowers appear over clasping leaves while blooming. Plants are variable in leaf and flower shape and have in the past been separated out as different subspecies due to these variable shapes; currently most taxonomic treatments lump these different forms into one highly variable species." - Wikipedia

Hy Larry
I am glad that you are back, prezenting a spring species, probably unknown in Europe- at least in my country.
Indeed, the shape of the leaves are interesting, but also the flower is nice. In my oppinion, the picture is much better than the previous one, considering the quality.
All the best, Oana

Hello Larry,

You are double correct, both the leaf and Flower are equally beautiful and their geometry is something unique. The depiction is captivating and you had the privilege to showcase both the leaf and flower. Well done.

Happy Earth Day !

Cheers,
Prasad

Hi Larry. Yes the leaf is also interestin with its unusual shape. But i must say the flower steals the show any time. A good close up with fine detail. well done TFS.

Uma foto encantadora.
Composição simples, mas de uma beleza calma, sutil, escepcional.

Hi Larry,

I agree - the leaf is as beautiful as the flower! I love this vertical composition. The subjects jump out from the background. Just lovely.

Hello Larry,
With Spring coming back, you are more present again on TN. It's a good thing!
I had a look at your last pictures, which are all fine, in your personal style. I like this one a lot for the interesting vertical framing and the fact that you included this special shaped leaf into the picture, which is not only for identification needs, but also helps the composition.
Very well done.
Kind regards
Anne

Bonjour Larry,
