Hi Niek
I was waiting for when you would get back :) I was starting to feel a bit "alone" here among landscapes posters (since Evelynn and Paul are also mostly absent).
First and foremost, BIG CONGRATULATIONS for your new website! It looks wonderful and very elegant and your photos stand out so well from the BG and fonts there. I'm sure what you have posted there now are only a fraction, so i'll be checking it out regularly for updates. Many thanks for adding my link there as well. Immediately after finishing writing this to you, i'd be glad to return the favor.
As for this image, it's again a lovely presentation of the famous Three Sisters.
The fact that it has less color in the FG doesn't bother me at all...if anything it makes the beautiful sky and its reflection pop out better and thus make the white mountain stand out superbly. However, i feel that the texture of the FG is a bit cluttered here and i for one would have probably made one or two steps ahead and used that nice dry log and a more upfront element.
That aside though, i like your composition - that is so neatly framed naturally by the branches of the fir tree from the left.
Very nice work my friend and, as usual, hope to see some more :)
Cheers and have a nice weekend
Horia

Hi Niek.
I like clean fine colours of the shot, crisp sharpness of the entire image and wonderful selection of the subject for shooting. You have used your nice wide angle lens perfectly. Excellent landscape shot. Thanks a lot.

Ciao Niek. Great vertical cut to exalt perspective and right space's management. Lightning sharpened compo with special details on the reflections. Ben fatto!

A fine wide angle shot with infinite depth and an exaggerated perspective Niek, the colours look quite natural in this serene image. TFS indeed!

Hi Niek,
Well composed and good color tone/sharpness!
It draws out good effect in the entire image on transparent lake and mountain that reflects to lake as well as this photo angle, I think. And, it is understood that here is a peaceful, quiet place.

Hi Niek,
You have been busy. I love your website. I WANT ONE OF THOSE! What did you use? Do you think I could do it??
I like your vertical presentation of South Sister. I agree with Horia about the foreground. I think the dark shadows are a bit distracting. I wonder how it would have looked had you used a lower point of view, starting closer to the log, so that the ratio of land to sky could be the same. Don't you just love hindsight?! We sometimes call that "Monday morning quarterbacking" (This expression, first recorded in 1932, alludes to fans who verbally "replay" Sunday's football game the next day, the quarterback being the team member who calls the plays." Monday morning quarterbacking refers to the process of passing judgment when one has hindsight.)
Anyway...technically your image is super and the reflection is wonderful.

Hi Niek,
firstly, many, many congratulations on your website! It loosk superb and is a grwat place to showcase your talent and skill...i have left a message :o) I will also return the favour and put a link to your site on mine, if this is ok with you.
This shot is just as good as the last, although i think i prefer the vertical format in this one. The depth is enormous! Good interest throughout - i wonder if you took any making that wonderful spikey log a bit more prominant? Technically excellent as always, well done my friend.
Paul

Hello Niek,
A beautiful landscape and the point of view adds a wonderful sense of depth!
Great light really brings out the colours and the f/16 gives good DoF...
And 10.000 feet is sufficient for snow to survive the middle of summer..!
Greetings,
