|I believe this guy is a marsh fly from the Sciomyzidae family. It was sitting on a young Fly Agaric (Amanita Muscaria) mushroom as they are abundant in Washington state this time of year. I would appreciate it if someone could confirm the identification.|

An exceptional image you have posted with super fine detail. Actually your photo is about ten times better quality then my guide book image. Wonderful color and DOF with just the right exposure. Well done!!
I would say this is definitely a marsh fly and possibly a Tetanocera plebeja. This particular one in my guide book looks as close to your photo as I can tell.
