It really didn't look like the kind of morning for my walk...as fog covered the sky and ground as far as I could see...and windows were frosted. I had on my Birkenstock's...the only walking shoes I have...yet I put on my jacket and walked out with nothing in hand...except perhaps last nights leftovers for the critters...

It didn't take but 50 yards of trekking and I came upon a floor of autumn leaves, mostly willow but some maple...and they were covered with signs of things to come.....frost...so...

I went back into the house to retrieve my trusty Leica and as I walked I preset it to macro mode and set the white balance with my handy home made "thingy"....I took 4 images and was pleased with them all in patterns and nature.....then extended my walk, but with a quicker pace now as I wanted to return and upload this to the computer....for...

In this I can see all seasons....as we are now coming to the cusp of fall into winter......but we spend only a few beautiful days in the snow before we start looking through seed catalogues..then planting and such and then fall once more...all things in circles...and in this I stopped time if only for a moment...

Oooohhh, Bob, that's wonderful, I love the ice-crystals around the leaves.
A frosty morning ...

Hi Bob. You have taken a fine winters picture. Some would say its hard to fine any colour this time of year but your picture shows many different shades of brown with the few geen leaves. I like the coating of frost. well seen and taken TFs.

Hello Bob,
A lovely capture of a beautiful selection of frost-covered autumn leaves. I love the colours and the sharp details. We've had the warmest November for many years in Sweden and hardly had any frost so far but no doubt it'll be here soon too!
TFS and all the best wishes, Ulla

The climate change is making its mark here: we've had no frost to speak of yet in this warm November.
This shot shows how it should be here, frost-covered leaves on the ground on their way to be recycled. The pattern of frosted leaves that you show here is great, colourful yet peaceful to look at. A nice shot for Advent Bob: winter is just round the corner!
Thanks and have a good weekend,
Ivan

Hello Robert.
Beautiful presentation of autumn/winter colours with colourful leaves.
Very nice composition with lovely natural light.Well captured and TFS,
Best regards Siggi,

Hi Bob,

Seems a little strange looking at this, its 8.18 in the morning here in Brisbane, the temp outside is 32deg, about 85f, not much cooler inside and officially were still in spring?

Just looking at this almost has a cooling effect even if it is just for a brief moment until the fan behind comes around again, really nice shot mate,

Cheers Rick :)

Hello Bob,
a superb macro shot with a perfect artistic "still life", very good sharpness and splendid autumnal colours, very pleasing visual impression

hello Bob,
We show an almost a similar subject, just in different situations..
The frost has a superb quality, it enhances the wonderful shapes of things and gives great subtility to colors. Excellent framing and a very subtle autumnal picture!
Have a nice weekend
Kind regards
Anne

Hola my friend,
Almost missed this beauty in my haste, such a fine semi-panoramic view of winter leaves with hoarfrost, which lends an unusual look to otherwise rather plain, dead leaves. You surely have a keen observing eye, a must for a nature lover/photographer!
Cheers and best regards,
Mehmet

Ciao Bob, lovely frozen composition with wonderful autumnal colors, splendid sharpness, very well done, ciao Silvio

Hy Bob
A picture that I like! All this leaves, covered by a thin layer of frost in the morning. It seems like sugar spreaded around.
All the best
Oana
