[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I photographed this nest of two baby blue birds which included two unhatched eggs. The mother and father have used this nesting location for two years. This is the first time that eggs were not successfully hatched. There were two birds, less than one week old. I have additional photos of the birds on my website at STEPHENWEITZ.COM.

Hi Stephen
First of all, welcome to TrekNature and your very welcome contribution!

It is an excellent study of a baby bird with so many details - one has to look and look again to absorb all the information offered in your photo.

I notice, you photographed this nest in July - and I am surprised - that in your area, in midsummer babies are still born. Do the always hatch so late - and does this occur also with other bird species?

Judging by the reflection on the egg, you used the flash very efficiently and I guess, the parents were glad, when you left again...

An interesting image - very well presented.

Kind regards

nice capture, TFS Ori
