Staircase of Falls
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A staircase of falls as it was called at Watkins Glen State Park. Anybody in the Northeast US must visit this amazing place. I would recommend late summer after rains or autumn and/or winter after some dusting of snow. There are many other really awesome falls in this state park - about 19 of them, I believe. The ones in this pic are about 1/2 ft in height. :-). If you search articles about photography in the Watkins Glen canyon, there are many useful suggestions like going in the morning to take advantage of the morning light and ofcourse, less people around. |

Hello Gaj,
Welcome to TN. You show us a wonderful waterfall image here, with excellent use of extremely small aperture - almost everything's in focus. I like the semi-diagonal line the waterfalls form on the pic, great colors, pleasant composition. Congrats and thanx for sharing.
Best regards from Hungary (Central Europe), László

Hello Gaj,
A wonderfully composed shot of these beautiful waterfalls. Excellent detail, lighting and exposure. Your choice of 1/6 shutter speed gives the moving water that nice soft appearance.
I will definitely have to visit Watkins Glen State Park in the future. If you ever visit Ohio you will have to check out Hocking Hills State Park, as it also has some awesome natural sights.

Indeed a finely focused and exposed naturescape in great taste Gaj, but I wonder whether those rectangular pools were natural or artificial...
Good lens and aperture choice resulted in a very extended DOF, the result is a pleasure to watch...
