Red Tailed Hawks
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|This pair of Red Tail Hawks were photographed in Vermont at the VINS preserve. These particular hawks were both injured and would not be able to return to the wild. VINS does attempt to rehabilitate injured raptors but those that are not able to return to the wild are cared for there, or in some cases are relocated to other sanctuaries.|
Used a 1.4x extender giving me 280mm FL to achieve a close-up of these raptors. I used the polarizer turned only partially to get the desired color saturation.
RAW/PS5 was used to crop, and adjust Curves plus to get the bokeh background bringing maximum attention to the subject. Finally used Nik Viveza to tweak the structure (sharpness/detail).

Hi Larry, Superb image of these two hawks. There is something very majestic about this species. The detail in the feathers and becks is to a professional standard. This would be suitable for a nat geo article in my opinion. TFS. Murray
