[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
My sister and I decided to use our day off work to climb part way up Mt. Hood. We're not mountain climbers, but do enjoy a good "climb" up something steep. We left home at 6:15 a.m. and fortunately the clouds didn't roll in over the mountain until early afternoon.

Mount Hood is the tallest mountain in Oregon (11,237 feet) and popular with skiers, hikers, and climbers. It is 45 miles east-southeast of Portland, Oregon.

Mount Hood is second only to Japan's Mt. Fuji in the number of climbers reaching the summit.

Hi Julie, what a climb! It looks a long way up and you and Lori must be fit to get this far.
Excellent POV looking up the mountain from the ground level. I like how everything is sharp, from the grasses right up to the top. Great colours too. Very well done, thank you.

Very nice pic, you captured the harsh habitat very well. Thanks, Ori

Wow ! I like this kind of landscape, it similar to my french Alps. This Mount Hood is beautiful, I would like to go there and climb it ;-) Did you had aches ? Nice composition with herb in foreground and snow on rocks, good colors and sharpness.
Thanks for sharing Julie.

This looks really nice with the rocks included in the foreground of the shot and the wheatlike plant. It really makes it look like we were close to the top doesn't it? Next time we'll have to take the chairlift first so we can make it higher! I really like this shot and the POV low to the ground.

Hi Julie,
I like your very low POV here and the inclusion of straws seen against the sky! Beautiful composition, excellent colours, definition and details... Very appealing mountain picture!
