Immature red-bellied woodpecker
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|This is a new arrival at our suet feeder - apparently the next generation of red-bellied woodpeckers. He is looking a bit bedraggled since it was a cloudy, sometimes rainy day. |
As he matures his red patch on his head will become more prominent and he will develop a reddish blush on his chest - hence the name.

such a beautiful photograph of this lovely bird is this! excellent DoF, exposure and sharpness. the legs are slightly blurred. might be due to the movements of the bird. but overall, the photograph has done enough justice to this beautiful baby. am yet to see this bird. hence, thanks for sharing.

This woodpecker looks like it rained for quite a while. Good composition with fine natural colors. I like the pose on the branch.
