[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
On a completely clear and calm morning, this Black Skimmer was making repeated fishing passes in water that was like a mirror. I had perfect lighting conditions (behind me, reasonably early in the morning, so warmer light and good shadow/contrast) and enough light to use faster shutter speeds with the F5.6 lens. Tracking them is the hard part. I've shot thousands of frames of Black Skimmers, and you have to anticipate and watch them coming. They are very swift and agile and turn on a dime. Once you see a good prospect, you need to train the lens on them and follow them in as they approach, maintaining focus.

Hi Eric,
What a fabulous action photo. It makes me appreciate, once more, our wonderful passion that we call photography. And an informative note too. Very well done indeed.

Hi Eric
What a fantastic photo. I use the same lens but when I look at this photo I realize that I still have a long way to go with my bird photography. TFS Deon

Hello Eric,
Absolutely amazing capture......Indeed the title is matching perfectly with the acrobatic flight of the bird. Lovely and interesting bird. Excellent details and colors. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Eric,
Perfect capture of flying bird. Very nice reflection in the water.
Regards Jiri.

Hello Eric,
What a perfect shot!! The first question that came to mind was what was the ISO settings and did you use a tripod (as you hid your info view)? Perfect mirror image displayed with good sharpness and superb detail in-flight. Colours and POV is perfect. Great work my friend.
Best regards,

WOAH..ok this is DEFINITELY my favorite today, and even before I see it's you Eric! Look at those droplets and truly "razor" sharp capture. Thank you so much for explaining how you caught this. WOW, another favorite of mine. TFS!! The reflection; the perfect white balance..and i can almost hear the ZIP on the water :0)

Wow great shot!!! Not only a fantastic subject (I never have seen until today) but also taken in a professional way.
Thanks for showing.
