Welcome to TN. Nice Pileated woodpecker. Lesson to learn is get closer, especially with a short lens. Will be looking for more images from you in future. I did a WS for you.
Hi Kevin. A trophy first picture for sure. A little more zoom would help but you work with what you've got sometimes. It is nice to see the scenery with the bird. This type likes to follow the treeline. This is a rarer shot with the bird standing instead of hanging. You really lucked out here. Anyway; nice to see and hope you post more. TFS Trevor

Anytime you can capture a photo of one of these elusive birds it is a success. I have been wanting to get a shot for quite some time now, but they never allow me to get close enough for a descent image. Congratulations on this photo, even though it is from a distance.
