[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It has been a week since I've had time to get on TN. because of the Spring Migration here in Ohio. I have spent the last three days up at Magee Marsh in search of the beautiful migrating birds all around the Lake Erie region.

I was thrilled to come across a small flock of these colorful Cedar Waxwings, who were eating the blossoms from this wild Crabapple Tree. I didn't know they actually fed on blossoms, but this group was eating them up like a kid with a box of popcorn.

After hand holding my camera up for what felt like hours, this particular bird turned at just the right angle in which to show off it's colorful plumage.

These pretty little birds normally travel in groups and are rarely seen alone, except during breeding season when they pair up.

I will post a photo of one eating a blossom in the WS.

Hello Ron,

I know what you mean about holding up a camera of 5lbs+ for extended periods of time - it's work!

Along the same lines, I never thought that a weight lifting program would ever be beneficial for nature photography - but it is and at the very least can make minutes seem like actually minutes.

A fine composition of this waxwing snacking on it's preferred food. We usually only see them in March on the Highbush Cranberries and just about now with the arrival of the apple blossoms.

Impressive focus, in choice light and perfect pov .... complete with the most contemplative of poses. Very nice.

Regards,

Derek

Hi Ron,
What a beautiful bird!! New to me. Perfectly captured in sharp, yet soft detail. I know that that very important ISO setting of 800 gave you the shutter speed to come up with this perfect exposure in the shadows. beautiful colours displayed here. Your DOF and POV could not have been better my friend. Excellent work and thanks for sharing.
Best regards,
Carl
