Family Anatidae; Anas cyanoptera (Cinnamon Teal).
Nearly all images from the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge were taken from my vehicle window. Biting flies of the genus Chrysops were so numerous that one could not exit the protection of the car. With the air conditioner running full blast, it formed a "curtain" of air at the open window precluding their entry (they evidently could sense the cold air and would stop at the open window allowing unhampered photographing or birds. |
