Had the most amazing day in the Everglades! Decided to post this water bird as became transfixed by his amazing eyes. It was a 13 hr trek, an amazing experience despite the mosquito infestation! :)

The Cormorant, fishes the same way as the Anhinga "water bird" yet distinctive difference is the curved yellow beak.

Hallo Brenda
I have been none active the last few weeks due to various reasons but I am back and it is a pleasure to see one of your beautiful images on the gallery. This is truly striking, especially the lovely colours. Althought there are no direct eye contact, the eye is very noticeable and has magnetism to it. Thanks for sharing a great image. Best regards.
Anna

the view is so lively with the blue background and exciting details of the black cormorant. The yellow beak stands out beautifully and the eyes complement the beauty.
Nicely take of this nice and exciting bird.
We dont have this bird in my place.
Thanks for sharing.

hello Brenda,
I agree with you, Cormorants have amazing eyes. They are visible here on your shot. I just think that sharpness however could have been better. But the whole picture is well taken and presented.
Kind regards
Anne

Hello Brenda,
The Cormorant has such an amazing color to it's eye, almost appearing like a precious illuminated gem stone. The feathers covering it's neck is also quite unusual looking, as they remind me of fur. A wonderful close-up view of this neat looking bird.
I'm sure the thirteen hours were well spent on learning more about your unique environment there in the Everglades, despite the onslaught of those pesky mosquitos:)
Ron
