Female Grackle
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Family Emberizidae: Quiscalus mexicanus Great-tailed Grackle.
This female is smaller than the male and is drab brown and gray in color whereas the male has an even longer tail (that is "V-shaped" than the female and is black with iridescent blue to black.
The female is in a children's play area and the gravel suits her just fine to put into her craw to aid in grinding food. Should be a wide selection of pebbles!! She has one in her beak.
Enjoy. |
