Mule Deer
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This mule deer is a buck. I was attempting to locate some Desert Big Horn Sheep along the Rock Canyon slopes just east of Provo, UT. A small group was spotted a week before, but this morning, only Mule deer were seen. They are just starting to grow new horns after shedding their 2013 racks in February/March. You can see the small "buttons" emerging from the top of his head.
Last night about 4:30 A.M. I chased two muley's out of my garden. They were about to devour my tulips ... they love tulips. The high electric fence does not seem to deter them because they have such heavy insulation with their hollow and dense hair. |
