[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Eastern Towhee is found mainly in the undergrowth of our eastern woods. I normally hear more birds then I actually see due to this fact.

This is a male and is more vividly colored then it's mate. Both male and female love to scratch among the leaves of the forest floor for insects.

These lovely birds are very territorial in the spring time and will readily appear if another male starts singing in their part of the woods.

I don't often find one out in the open like this, so I was thrilled to capture him sitting on a branch.
