[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The last few days were quite warm here in Ohio for this time of year, the thermometer reached 71 degrees fahrenheit. Rosie and I decided to get out and do a bit of hiking at our local wilderness center. There are two ponds at the center the largest I would guess to cover nearly 20 acres.

We saw many Canada Geese which didn't surprise me in the least. Canada Geese can be found here in Ohio on almost every large or small body of water.

We also spotted this lone American Coot which seemed content just paddling by itself along the shoreline. It would immediately venture out into deeper water when spotting someone approaching from along the shore.

I will post another image in a WS.

Excellent POV, Ron. The movement of this bird is effectively conveyed by contrasting white color of the disturbed water.
Overall, a beautiful image.

Hi Ron,a common specie but caught in a perfect way,i like the 2 different pics with different light reflections on the water, great sharpness too despite the distance. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Ron,
Here in South Africa Coot looks different in colour. Quite well captured if we look at its colour as well as sharpness. But bird is too small in the frame and too much BLANK SPACE, even if I take it as a Natural Habitat Picture. Bit tighter crop could have been more effective where we could see details well, in my view. More depth in picture could jave been better. Glittering water looks nice, showing his/her journey.
Thanks for sharing,
Regards and have a nice WE,

Hello Ron

Each person has his taste, I personally love this kind of environmental photos,
sometimes even the bird smaller in the image and having more of his habitat,
fine POV and framing beautiful reflections, TFS

Hi Ron,

I like the reflections on the water. The point of view is showing thedetails of the American Coot. The light has a good effect on the colours. Have a nice day.
