"Charaxes varanes"

[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I searched the web to try to find this butterfly and asked if anyone could identify it here?
See Lousat's message identifying it as "Charaxes varanes" - since it is native to Africa, not the USA - I am going to try to find out how it got into the exhibition.
Taken at Brookside Gardens in Maryland USA during their annual butterfly celebration

Hi Alan, finally i have the name! This is a "Charaxes varanes", the pearl emperor, Karkloof emperor, or pearl charaxes, a butterfly of the family Nymphalidae, found in Africa from Saudi Arabia to South Africa. It's easy to take in a butterfly exhibition as you do, but the pic is absolutely wonderful, the top of perfection talking about sharpness and exposure,i like it! Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano (5 comments to my last 5 pics to pay...ahahahah)
