[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I'm not sure what type of plant this is, but I found it while walking along a stream in the woods. Usually I frown upon a POV like this (looking down at the subject), but it captured the beautiful design of the plant. The exposure turned out a bit yellowish for some reason, so I adjusted the hue and saturation to end up with a more realistic blue/green that is closer to the plant's real color. I selected all areas outside of the plant and took out all color. Brightness/contrast adjustments were not made. What do you think?

Hi Brian
Very creative use of the B&W background to highlight & enhance this plant. It realy stands out well and even on the thumbnail it had excellent impact. Although I'm not one for elaborate frames I must say this one really fits the photo.
The composition is rather central, but come to think about it there is probably not much one could do differently with a such a circular subject. Actually I too like the overhead POV. The colours are great, the DOF is spot-on, and the exposure was well managed.
Very nice work and TFS.

Hello Brian,

What an original and very powerful picture! The star form of this plant just makes my head turn ;-) The idea to put the bg in b/w and let the plant in color is very creative and I like it alot! Nice pov and composition. TFS,
