Every evening the buffalo in this Grand Teton herd would move from one area of the park to another. We would monitor their progress every evening and drive to the closest point. Usually we were the only people there. It seems that when they are on the move they set a straight course and expect that they have the right of way...which of course they do. This cow with calf followed the large male previous post This time I was a bit more cautious and took the picture through the space between the open door of the truck and the windshield...which resulted in getting the radio antenna in the shot!! I cloned it out. I really liked the evening light and the bird hitching a ride on mama's back.

It is so rare to see a buffalo calf, and in the wild at that.
What a special treat. : )
Great shot of mother and child with sharp details and good colors. Interesting how their colors differ.
I love the composition with the vast vast plain.
It makes me feel good that they are roaming free in it.
TFS. : )

Hi Evelynn,
Nice composition, just like they were posing for you!
Wildlife at its best... wild!
I like the composition with inclusion of the habitat, telling about the way of life...
Pleasant lighting gives nice colurs!

Gentle shades and tones of green and yellow make this image very charming, Evelynn.
The animals merge well with this habitat.

Hello Evelynn,
Lovely shot.
Very pleasing composition with very good detail, depth, color, and light.
I did a quick WS.
Very well done.

Hi there,
I think I got strange eyes....I like the tree in the back. It just keeps atracting me. Maybe also because I saw so many bisons that I learned not to see them anymore. Anyway, Great note and a beautiful photo especially the light and the calf looking at you.

Nice madona and child shot. Nicely dramatic light this time of day, too. What's amazing is how quickly these babies grow up. Here's a calf back in late May -- just a month earlier!
