[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this photo almost exactly one year after Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast of the United States. I was flying into New Orleans for a medical conference and noticed the shearing forces of Katrina in the trees near the gulf. You can clearly see which way the wind was blowing as it stripped the trees of their leaves. The road in the upper part of the photo is still partially covered. I'll be posting lots of photos of the Lower Ninth Ward (the area affected most by the levees breaking) on TrekEarth and TrekLens. The levees are being rebuilt now, but reports say they will not be able to withstand another Category IV hurricane.

Hi Alli, that hurricane will never be forgotten. So much damage everywhere. And these trees are part of an area that I guess was never mentioned. Thank you for sharing this view with us,
