I took this photo while hiking with my family down Stone Mountain, which is the largest granite monolith in the world. Only 2% of the piece of granite is showing above ground and its elevation is over 2000 feet. It's a very strange place to go as it looks like you're on the moon when at the top of it. Occasional vegetation can grow because the wind blows dirt into the craters that you can see in this photo. These pretty wild daisies only grow in a 60 square mile around around Stone Mountain and appear in the fall for about a month.

Nice shot, nice view. Well done on the comp.
Heading down your country at Christmas, Oxford.


The yellow daiseys flow nicely towards the pine tree on the left, but the distant land and sky is on the weak side. It might look better if the sky was cropped a little above the tree.
