This was taken on the Swiftcurrent Pass trail out of Many Glacier on the east side of Glacier National Park. There was a sudden change in the weather and very strong winds developed and almost blew us off the trail. See workshop for for another view.

Hello Evelynn,
Impressive shot of a very dramatic landscape. In spite of the dull sky you've got some lovely colours and the point of view is excellent.
TFS and besst wishes for 2007, Ulla

Hi Evelynn,
Very nice mountainscape, I like the workshop photo as well. The weather in the mountains can change so quickly, I have been hiking in August in sunny warm conditions and within a blink of an eye it started to snow and gotten cold. I like the foreground colors that diffinately add to this photo. Thanks for sharing, Rick.

Hi Evelynn. Good shot, this place breathes calms it! Happy New Year! TFS...José

Hi Evelynn,
Good shot!
Very impressive landscape; quite scary, Glacier National Park, but also very beautiful.
Not afraid of wildlife?

Bonjour Evelyne!

Superbe endroit et bonne prise de vue. Bravo et merci pour le partage.
Bonne année!

Hi Evelynn,
Great to see you post some more of Glacier NP. Looks like you had a rather grey day that day. But still with a good clarity. The view is spectacular and the subtle colors are right up my alley. The sharpness of the FG isn't that good, but that is pretty obvious with F4 and your focus point in the center. Anyway, I like the view a lot. I really like the WS photo since I can see where I walked a few monhs before.

ouaw comme j aimerais y etre merci evelynn bravo

Magnificent vista, Evelynn. : )
I really like the composition, with diagonals coming from opposite directions on every plane.
Interesting details in foreground, midground, and background.
Also enjoyed your "map" in workshop.
It really gives the viewer a good idea of the grandeur of this landscape.
It was great seeing you and Jerry. Happy New Year to both of you!
TFS. : )

Ciao Evelynn, splendid landscape, great picture, wonderful colors, very well done,
* Happy New Year * to you and your family.
Ciao Silvio

This is clearly a fall shot. The lack of snow gives it away. I think it looks very peaceful with the soft green colors and soft light from the cloudy skies. Not as dramatic as full sun on a cloudy day, but beautiful in its own way; and you've done a great job capturing that. Good use of fg, mg, and bg, too.
P.S. And, by the way, the wind can REALLY howl on this side of the divide, especially on cloudy days when we have a chinook marked by a chinook arch on the western horizon (I think it typically happens when a cold front moves in from the north, and the wind zooms over the passes with such velocity that all the moisture is cleared by the wind, but can't erase all the moisture in the sky).
