Taken at Tonto Natural Bridge, not too far from Payson, AZ.

Detail of ice crystals forming at the base of a giant limestone bridge. The area beneath the bridge can be seen from way above where water drips down into a small snaking canyon, or you can hike down a fairly steep trail into the canyon and the area beneath the bridge itself. At this time of the year there were still ice stalactites forming on the roof. This ice formed on grass and twigs atop a mound situated very close to the overhang of the bridge.
