[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
(Thanks to Rick and JeanPaul for help in identifying this tern).

I took the photo over a lake near my home in Texas, USA. This bird flys very fast, is very acrobatic, makes a clicking noise, and dives straight down to surface of water to catch small fish.

I was shooting in manual mode and under-exposing by one f-stop. ISO was 200.

shutter = 1/500
aperture = f8.0

Hello Ken,

Splendid pose and very lovely shot, I like the shadow under the wings, excellent sharpness and clarity. Very well done!

Hi Ken,
My best guess on identification is a first year common tern, I was thinking it was a juvenile atric tern but I don't think they are in your area. Very nice inflight capture Ken.

Hello Ken

I really like this POV of this IN flight bird, excllent colors Bg POV DOF well done

TFS Kyle

Salut Ken
Un autre superbe photo, tout est parfaits la netteté, les couleurs, l'exposition et l'action de l'oiseau est superbe.
D'après moi ton oiseau est une jeune Sterne de Forster

Félicitations et au revoir..JP

Hi Ken.
Technically your shot is taken perfectly especially exposure. Excellent sharpness and details, colours are well saturated and very pleasant to eye. Unfortunately, I can't help with ID. Well done and TFS. My best wishes.

Perfectos detalles. Precioso ave y un buen fondo sobre el que planea.
Saludos, JL.

Hi Ken,
This is a fantastic image of this Tern in full flight. It contrasts so well with the perfect blue sky. Excellent image, I love it.

Hi Ken,
I was attracted by this Tern picture because I was watching them lately an as you mention their fling skills are very impressive. Your picture is very well done showing the bird in its typical attitude, looking down to the water and ready to dive any moment. In my opinion is a young Forster's Tern. TFS

Your butterflies collection is very impressive and all of them are beautiful.

Regards, Mario
