Hello dear friends and visitors!!!
Here we have a picture from my archive.I took this photo last year in a "Platation" near New Orleans.
To be honest I was afraid to put it here,because it is not so good,but I showed it in Facebook and I had so many good comments...So I became a little more confident to show it in TN for all my dear friends.


Magnolia is a big flower, a beautiful white flower.It has a lovely and strong smell and exuberant forms.I left my hand near it just to give you an idea of its size.

Magnolia is a large genus of about 210 flowering plant species in the subfamily Magnolioideae of the family Magnoliaceae. It is named after French botanist Pierre Magnol.
Magnolia is an ancient genus. Having evolved before bees appeared, the flowers developed to encourage pollination by beetles. To avoid damage from pollinating beetles, the carpels of Magnolia flowers are extremely tough. Fossilised specimens of Magnolia acuminata have been found dating to 20 million years ago, and of plants identifiably belonging to the Magnoliaceae dating to 95 million years ago. Another primitive aspect of Magnolias is their lack of distinct sepals or petals: Magnolias possess undifferentiated flower parts for which the term "tepals" was coined.
The natural range of Magnolia species is a disjunct distribution, with a main centre in east and southeast Asia and a secondary centre in eastern North America, Central America, the West Indies, and some species in South America.Wikipedia

Hello Ana,
The warm rays from the sun is certainly evident, as is also the backlighting effect. The Magnolia blooms are always a special treat in the early springtime months here in Ohio. Thanks for sharing this pretty flowering plantwith us.

Bonjour Ana,
Cette plante magnifique nous l'avons aussi dans notre jardin botanique et je l'ai vu, comme toi éclairée par le soleil couchant. Une gageure de la photographier ainsi, car il n'y a rien de plus difficile que la couleur blanche et la lumière..
La "composition" est bien choisie, quant à la netteté, elle en a souffert un peu.
Un grand merci de ta gentille critique sur ma petite libellule.
