Diagnóstic description: Amplitude eave: both sexes of 43 to 47 mm.
Similar sexes. Previous wing of black color with triangular points of yellow color in the marginal area. Later wing of black color with one borders discontinuous of yellow color in the area posmedia, edge of yellow color

Habitat: Margins of secondary, potreros, secondary ways with forest and and gardens.

Service life:
Larva in fifth stage: the capsule of the head is of bright black color. In protorax, the part where osmeterio is located is of color target-yellow. The body is of brown color chocolate.
The tubercles of the thorax are of brown color with black apexes. The tubercles of the abdominal segments are white with apexes brown black. Legs of black color, pseudolegs brown chocolate.
Pupa: pupas can be of green color or color coffee-orange. Those of color coffee-orange, they have cremaster and the last abdominal segment of black color, the ventral part of the thorax and the first abdominal segments are of color coffee-orange. Margins of patches color eave dark coffee, head dark coffee. Pupas of green color has cremaster of black color, the ventral surface in the region of the thorax and the first abdominal segments are of greenish yellow color. The margins of the patches eave are of dark green color, the rest of pupa is of dark green color.

Feeding: The adults visit the flowers of Lantana camara (Verbenaceae).

Relations: Hospedera plant: Aristolochia constricta Griseb.

Distribution:
Species: North, Center and the South America, and the Antilles.
Subspecies: North, Center and the South America.
