[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I found this single yellow bell coming up through the snow in the Tom McCall Nature preserve. Fritillaria Pudica. Forms 5-15 cm tall flowers on a single erect stem from a white bulb 2.5 cm below ground. Blooms April to May so this little guy is a bit early. Range is Sagebrush and ponderosa pine ecosystems, East of the Cascade, Okanogan County and south to Columbia River Gorge. This one was in the Columbia River Gorge.

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!
wonderful...
great shot!!

very nice , though dark with a limited depth of focus. ori

great composition
i think it needs a little bit low POV to fit the flower front dark BG.
congrats

Hi Julie,
Great close-up, with good color and POV. I do agree with fragman, but this has everything to do with your low f stop and short exposure time. I do like the idea and composition.
Regards,
Niek

One of my favourite flowers, I have tried to grow this superb tiny flower, I think the bulbs look like tiny flying saucers from the classic SF films.
The flower is beautifully captured and looks spot on for colour to me.
For me I personally would of likes more leaf in focus but other would think this is spot on for this same point, very much a personal thing
TFS yours Robert

Hi Julie

A very simple shot. Well composed, good exposure and very effective. Nice one! :-)
