|I tried to capture some nice color and some depth in this picture. I used the macro mode in my camera for this shot, which I think worked nicely because some areas are slightly out of focus, which adds more depth. I enhanced the colors a bit, just trying to bring out some reds (to brighten up the bark a bit) and some greens (to highlight the moss/fungus on the bark). I tried to make the frame a bit smaller than in some of my other pictures. I also darkened the picture a tad and increased the contrast to really darken those dark lines around the edges of the bark.|
A note on framing -- what's the deal? What makes a good frame? Is a frame necessary in every picture -- if not, how do you know when you should add a frame to your picture?
