[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The attractive Yellow-tufted Honeyeater (Lichenostomus melanops) is a medium-sized honeyeater (23cm) that inhabits dry open eucalypt forest and woodland of south-eastern Australia. They particularly like habitat near watercourses, where the shrub layer is thicker but are rarely found in the coastal zone, preferring areas of stony foothills.

Although they do visit flowering plants, this species is more insectivorous than most honeyeaters, often catching insects that inhabit the deep fissures of rough-barked eucalypts such as is illustrated here. They live in small colonies of 10-20 birds and feed and nest communally. They are uncommon throughout their range.

Hello Chris,
Indeed a very attractive bird. Very beautiful photo in natural colours and great sharpness. The trunk and BG are also beautiful. Excellent POV and composition.

Hi Chris!

I'm glad to be your neighbour today! And I'm also glad to discover this beautiful picture and the beautiful bird it represents. The vertical composition suits the subject very well. I'm also delighted by the rich details in the bird's feathers. The simple and so pleasant picture offers the viewer a superb overall impression of the Honeyeater.

Hallo Chris
A delightful image of this appealing bird. Details captured are clear and a pleasure to look at. The "strong" colours of the plumage is very striking. The catch light in the eye is an additional bonus. Focus is great and I can only but appreciate this fine image. I like the vertical position along the tree trunk very much. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.

Hello Chris,
Love the vertical composition you chose for this particular shot. The tree frames the photo nicely and gives us a glimpse of what this beautiful birds natural habitat is really like. The black mask is a real eye catcher and it seems to give some mystical character to this pretty yellow Honeyeater.

Hello Chris,
Interesting picture, light is almost against, but the work of exposition is excellent what details are very well appreciate. The POV is superb and very well diposal the scene. Congratulations, this photo is such as to see with the naked eye. Thanks for sharing.
