[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The dingo (Canis lupis) is Australia's largest mammalian predator.

Adult dingoes grow between 10 and 20kg, and were though to have been introduced into Australia at around the same time as the aborigines arrived on the continent.

Dingoes have litters of between 3 and 5 pups, born between April and August (autumn / winter period).

At one stage, the Australian government built a 5000km long, 2m high, fence in an attempt to keep dingoes from attacking livestock.

Although appearing quite docile, dingoes have been known to attack humans. They are often found around the perimeter of camping areas in the more remote regions of Australia.

This photo was taken at a wildlife sanctuary at Healesville, about 60km east of Melbourne.

Lovely shot Peter. Colour, sharpness and detail are all excellent. This one looks like a pet I might pat - but something about the look in the eyes (which you've caught admirably) might make me hesitate. For good reason too given your note!
