Pied Oystercatchers
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Scientific name: Haematopus longirostris
The Pied Oystercatcher is found in coastal areas throughout the Australian continent except for areas of unbroken sea cliffs such as the Great Australian Bight. Pied Oystercatchers have probably declined throughout much of their range and the current population may be as low as 10,000. Closely related forms are found in almost every continent in the world. |

Hi Carl (for a change on TN and not TE).
This is a great and sharp capture with good reflections as well. Great red beaks!
cheers
Ian
nice capture, TFS Ori
Hi carl,
Well composed, excellent tone and a wonderful photograph!
You're capturing well these birds from a good angle.
And, shadow projected to surface of the water draw out a good effect for the whole, I think.
It's cute bird having red nib, black wing and white body.
Regards,
mikio

Hello Carl,
A warm welcome to TN.
What a nice pair of oyster catchers!
I like their bold contrasting black and white plumage.
And that red beak, red eye, and almost red legs.
The one on the right shows us how they find food.
Sharp details and excellent light and exposure.
Nice reflections.
TFS. : )

Hello Carl,
lively capture of these birds. The reflection is so special and artistic. Excellent view in good sharpness. I like the red eyes and the pose of eating in the water.
Nicely captured in good view.
