A very happy New Year to all.
A typical Australian image: a pair of Galahs (female with red eyes on the left) on a windmill.
The Galah (Cacatua roseicapilla) is also known by the name of Pink & Grey. This pair belongs to the West Australian sub-species assimilis, with a grey eye ring and pinker crest than the nominate species. Typical of the Australian bush, the Galahs are confident and noisy parrots, extremely common from the city to the semi-arid interior. They usually form large flocks, especially when roosting at night. There are already many photos of them on TrekNature, but I thought this pair looked particularly smug.

Great shot of these galahs - colors are excellent. I tried to get some pictures a year ago, but they only turned up at dusk, and were very camera-shy, so I think you did well to capture this image.
